hmmmm its doing it to the new hd????????? oh man must be a wire or what ever that lets the hd feed info to ur ps3. try to clean it out somehow. i would call sony asap. try to be really upset maybe get yourself a new slim out of the deal

Hey, thanks for the reply. So it's possible that none of the data is what is corrupting it?

Also, my PS3 is out of warranty, I've had it since early 2007. I don't think they'd send me a new one.

Okay, I feel I have somewhat of a unique PS3 problem. Looking for some serious trouble shooting advice for people that really know what they're doing. First the issue:

Yesterday while playing The Sly Collection my PS3 froze up and I was unable to re-load the game. It would fade to black while loading. I restored my file system and it said my HD was corrupted and it would restore it. The game was able to then load up for about 10 minutes before the same thing happened, would freeze up. Tried several other games, same problem.

I then did a complete format of the hard drive, within 10 minutes it was doing the same thing again. I figured I needed a new hard drive, this one is constantly getting corrupted and messing up my games.

I did some research and noticed that everyone that had this issue had it resolved when they put in a new hard drive.

I went out and bought a brand new one. I decided to leave off all my data from my old backups. I didn't want to transfer over any corrupt files to the new hard drive and I really don't mind playing some games again.

Anyway, after about 10 minutes the NEW hard drive became corrupted as well and the freezing began again.

I know this is possibly a internal problem other than the hard drive that's causing the freezing but why do the HDs keep getting corrupted in the process?

Is there anything I can do at this point other than get a new PS3 or send it in for repair? I feel I went through all the troubleshooting. Is there anything I'm missing, anything else I can do?

I will WUL anyone willing to help and will greatly appreciated it. Thanks to anyone that took the time to read this as well.

But I'm not allowed to post about it, talk about it, or link it:(

Can the the guideline please be updated to show that you're not allowed to talk about the games you own? Thanks.

Here you can see my current gen collection. Please do not rate it as that is apparently not allowed.

What you won't find in my current-gen collection:
- Stickers, I keep the cases of games I trade-in to avoid them if I buy used.
- Collector's Editions or "greatest hits" versions.

What you will find in my current-gen collection:

- A large variety of different genres. I love all types of games. - Demon's Souls is there, camera reflecting off it unfortunately.

Playstation 3 Collection

Xbox 360 Collection

Nintendo Wii Collection

I don't trade much in, as you can see, but there are exceptions. I still have all my old PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, Nintendo 64 games, etc. games in a similar condition as well if you all want me to post those let me know. So, look at and comment about my current-gen collection!

7. It's a nice collection but it consists mostly of games that everyone played. I think a collection to be proud of should have a bit more personality.Reptylus

Interesting reply, any recommendations?

You have a really good collection. I would play (and have played) every single one of your PS3 and Xbox games. We have very similar tastes. Im glad there are not any racing or sports games there haha

Unless you count Modnation Racers haha. But yeah, not a huge fan of either of those genres as they upgrade to frequently and thus get stale for me.
