Mirror's Edge - Platinum Trophy

Just got the platinum trophy for mirror's edge and trust me it's hard work. Most of the trophies are easy to collect but the speed runs are a killer and take time and patience to complete each level perfectly. Some of the time trials can prove tricky as well but they're all good fun. Honestly I probably wouldn't have bothered with the time trials or speed runs if I wasn't going for the platinum trophy but I'm glad I did because it added an extra few days of gameplay and completing a level under a certain time is rewarding and gives a good buzz when you finally make it. Overall I really enjoyed the game and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a challenging platinum trophy to collect.

Being Patient

I've only had my PlayStation 3 now for just over a month and so far it has been well worth the wait. I decided that this was the time to invest in a new console because hardly any new games were coming out for the PS2 so I figured it was time to invest in the PS3. I have the slim 120 GB version of the console! I wont however be buying the latest games for the console and instead I will be buying the older games first and this is for two reasons. Firstly I can pick up the older games for a cheap price and secondly the older games are still going to look really good to me because I've just stepped up from the PS2 so they are still going to be extremely fun. So far in a month I've completed eight games.

  • Resistance fall of man Assassin's creed
  • Stranglehold
  • Heavenly Sword
  • Rainbow Six Vegas
  • Conan
  • Call of Duty Modern Warfare
  • The Darkness

All these games I have enjoyed playing and Assassin's creed and Call of Duty 4 have really stood out for me as they were both of an excellent high standard. Needless to say I'm already addicted to COD4 online. Those eight games cost me around a total of £80 so you can see the value in money. Why pay £40 for one game when you can pick it up in a year or two for under £10?

I've already ordered my next four games and these are The Elder Scrolls IV (Which I hear as game play of up to 200 hours so I'm sure I'll get lost in that game), Unreal Tournament 3, The club and Dark Sector. Again I've picked these games up on the cheap and picked up the lot up for under £40. Another advantage of getting the games later rather then straight away is that most games I've played have come with a patch/update so I can imagine there must have been some bugs with the games and if I'd have just paid £40 for a game that was full of bugs I'd have been left frustrated. I really wanted to buy a PS3 back in 2007 but I resisted temptation knowing that I could play on all the great games for next to nothing if I could wait a couple of years and now I finally have one I wish I'd gotten one SOONER lol
