Yeah - trying to find out if you can play it on a non-HDCP monitor. Really don't want to have to drop the coin for a new screen. The game in question states HD output at 720p - so there is hope atm.

So is it confimed yet that you have to have the HDCP monitor or does just resetting the PS3 (powerbutton "input cycle" beep) actually work for those monitors that are not HDCP compliant (Samsung 19" 940BW)? Thanks again guys. Dayblade

I dont think HDCP is the problem. I have been researching this for a while and I think people just say you need HDCP because of word of mouth. What I mean is that all of these people have just read or heard this somewhere and havent tried it for themselves.

Anyway to my point, I am using a Westinghouse L1975NW 19" and it does NOT support HDCP. It works fine with my ps3, which is at 720p. I got a black screen at first too. What you have to do is reset the connection by turing the system on from standby and holding the power button until you hear a second beep. If that doesn't work you can try to connect component/compisite cables, to a regular tv, along with your HDMI to DVI, to your monitor. Then turn the system one and change the settings to output through HDMI. I hope this helped. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

So - Does it work for games on standard monitors and just not movie playback? Reason I ask is I have a NON HDCP compliant monitor (Samsung 940BW) and really would like to hook it up to my PS3 with just a HDMI>DVI cable and work on the audio challenge afterwards. Thoughts?

[Edit] - If the 720p requirement for games is of any importance, the game in question I am looking at or concerned with does state its HD output is indeed 720p.
