*JRPG= Japanese Roll Playing Game
hello fellow 360 owners, id like to explain the situation were in right now. 360 didnt sell so well over in asia. The reason im bringing this up is because 360 has kinda been 'the suck' when it comes to quality exclusive RPGs. Ok so we hav oblivion and mass effect, (and u can kinda count bio shock) but thats about it. And as these r great games they just dont hav the classic RPG feel. Some times this isnt bad but all these games fell like shooters to me(ok... ok, u dont use guns in oblivion, but u use a bow, and its like the samething). im not saying this is a bad thing, (i like how RPGs and FPS/TPS are merging to give a more all around gaming experience) but almost every decent Xbox exclusive game involves shooting, and my trigger finger is getting a little tired.
now i know what u thinking. i clicked on this link expecting to read about JRPGs and that word/acronym hasnt been mentioned once. well let me start off by mentioning a game called Eternal Sonata. Most people probably havent even hear of this game, but this was the first great JRPG that was made for the 360. The game may hav been short(ish) but it was moving and it stuck with you. The only problem is that no one bought the game (im guilty, i rented it) so there will probably never be another great JRPG released exclusively for the 360, OR SO I THOUGHT.
Tales of Vesperia came out for the 360 last week, and the game is great. Its fresh and exciting, with a good story and beautiful graphics. The one concern i hav, is that no one will buy it. The majority of the 360 crowd seems to be against games like this, mostly because of the graphics. the 360 attitude is all in your face, and this game looks "childish". And im not going to lie, if a child did play this game they probably would enjoy, but just because younger people would hav fun playing the game dosent mean that you wont.... ok sorry im ranting again, but its just that i c this game as one of the last chances for the 360 to get some variety in there games, and if this game dosent sell well i think that developers (AKA namco.) will stop spending time making great, long lasting games, with in-depth stories, and instead replace the stylish graphics with a gritty gore fest, and the unique game play to a first person run and gun, and finally the story with ur run of the mill speechless hero pwns 'bad guys'.
