Blu-Ray Dominance.

As you can see, Warner Bros. is Blu-Ray exclusive now. Paramount and other huge movie companies are negotiating things with those who've invested in Blu-Ray. Now, I and many others ask ourselves this: Blu-Ray is damn sure dominating the movie industry. But, is Blu-Ray TRULY needed in the gaming industry? My opinion: No. It's not needed. Blu-Ray is new and to implement it in the gaming business, well I think it's to soon.

We've seen over the course AND end of 2007 the PS3 titles that have been released and well not all of us can say these titles are SMG quality when it comes to ''fun'' or ''gameplay''. Blu-Ray HAS the space, and the durability. But, when you think for a while, it's not really any different than DVD9. Just look at the multiplats: SpiderMan 3, Madden NFL 08, hell people even say Assassin's Creed is better on 360 due to the ''Screen tearing'' that's present in the PS3 version.

So what is Blu-Ray doing now for gaming? Not much, it's usefull for HUGE audio files and HUGE levels and character models that are as big as 5GB. B-Ray is killing HD-DVD in the movie business, but in the gaming business it's not really doing much. It costs more money to develop games on B-Ray, supposed more ''Load times'' due to ''slow'' disk reading. Which I don't think is true but anyways lol.

Let's face it Blu-Ray is great, it's a durable CD lol and it has ALOT of space, but it's too soon to bring Blu-Ray into gaming. It wasn't a bad idea to add B-Ray player into PS3s but, standard videogame format? Not yet in my eyes.
