I'd get the Pro just because I download all of my media onto my computer. I'd only use the 20 Gbs for game saves and maybe for trying out game demos. That and I don't have a TVwith HDMI.

Part of it is because the 360 uses slightly updated media from the original Xbox and now game development costs are rising since games are being produced in HD-format.

The systems specs seem all right, that is, expect for the X1100 chipset. Now you'll should be able to play Oblivion but not with jacked up graphics. As for games in general, the X1100 is kind of weak so, you won't be able to play anything very demanding. Most old games should work fine, but as for future ones, I'd select there'll be only a select few since since games are becoming more increasingly graphics-intensive.

Dust can be a problem for sure, it'll make the system run quite loud. But really, if your room stays cold, that's a definite plus since "Red Rings of Death" come from overheating. Although, I was thinking the exact same thing you are before I bought my 360, I heard of far too many system hardware problems people encountered. But, even if it does end up bricking or something, Microsoft is making improvements in the system that already are rolling out, while systems with slightly bigger changes will come in the Fall. Have no fear!

Did you beat the guy with the machete or the clown with the chainsaws? If so, you won't need guns at all for bosses, just go back to where either of them died and their weapons well help. I know for a fact the machete and blue chainsaws do some unbelievable damage.

hey can anyone please tell me when is the release date for the xbox 360 elite in europe and is it worth my while waiting to get it? should i just get the 360 now and what are the main differences between the 2?chillin_penguin

It'll be available August 24th for £329

The main difference is an HDMI port and a 120 Gb HD as opposed to 20 Gb. Honestly, if you don't have some huge widescreen TV and won't rely on your Xbox 360 for downloading all kinds of media, you should just get one now. If you'll just use a 360 to save games and maybe download demos before you buy certain games, then you don't need an Elite.

Oh yeah, some say the Elite has minor hardware tweaks to prevent overheating and the ring of death. I'm not sure whether that's accurate or not.

What's the reason to do this? You can just plug it into your TV.PrivateJessard

You can get better resolution from your monitor. Ebay's your best shot, as far as shopping goes, the VGA cable is non-existent.

And if you got one with the old chipset like me (08/2006  ) just make sure it's in a well-ventilated area so it doesn't overheat too quickly and brick, that's one of the 360's main problems. It very well could last for years.
