Go0d EaT$! Part 1 of 2

Now every one gather around...closer...closer..STOP! I have a yummy blog 4 y'all this fine Christmas Evening. Excited? Well, you should be because this is a traditional Mexican American feast for the gringos out there, :). I mean it in a good way, ok? Good. Before the mental eating begins, I'm going to tell you some of my back round. This explains the food & customs. Firstly, Iam half white (dad)/Mexican American (mom). I don't live with my dad, but me and my both live with her mom, my grandma in the barrio. I have relatives that live in Mexico, and they are all fair skinned people w/black hair and light colored eyes like my grandma, mom, & me. Now, I don't normally embrace my Mexican hertiage, but since I am in a website filled with intelligent and great people, I am going to share w/you Mexican foods, so you can pass it on! :) Ready? First, lets start with the TAMALES! Those tasty corn "egg rolls" (they look like egg rolls) stuffed with meat, beans or suger are wrapped in corn husks. Then set to boil for about an hour. I actually don't like them, but I do have a soft spot for spicy chicken, beef, and bean! Then I top it all off with green chile...mmmmmmmmmm. Meats used: Pork, Beef, and Chicken. In some places, goat meat is used. I have never tried the goat, but the sound of it is just gross! More Stuffings: Bean. The desert Sugar tamale stuffed with sugar, cinnamon, and raisins. How do u make one: First, you need masa. Masa is wet flour doh with lard & some spieces. Save your self the time, buy it already MADE*! When the doh is ready, add your stuffing, such as above meats. Make sure the meat is cooked, use fine shreads of the chosen meat and mix it in with doh. Then you'll need corn husks*. Fill the stuffing 3/4 of the way of the corn husk. Fold the remaining half of the husk up ward. Boil in a large pot for about an hour. Its done when its soft. Spices: Salt, pepper, red smoked peppers, all mixed in with the doh. LIKE THAT! You can just smell the heavenly aroma. SNIFF. *Up north, I don't know where you would get these items. Sorry. NOTE: This blog is to long, so i made to parts for it. I'll post resapes in the next blog.
