It isnt.....it has a campaign and local servers for your friends to join, or bigger ones for larger numbers of players
My understanding is that the sigle player part is just a series military missions, you can play offline. You can't play the freelancer style exploration game offline. I I'm wrong, could someone please point me to a statement by the devs?

gamespot has a 1 hour stage demo of the game, the man was playing it the entire time. For asking for pledges, and already having a workable demo out is impressive.
I thought the same thing and was blown away by what was shown. I can only imagine how this will turn out over the next two years of development with proper funding and no publisher shoving ides and deadlines down their throats. Like I said keep spreading the word!

What everyone else has said but he did not just do Wing Commander which had more than one successful title in the series he also did Privateer and Freelancer as well as some others. The stuff he's showing is brilliant and his vision is even more brilliant. He's back and he's brought his A game. Give the site a look let the content of what he just announced and showed on Oct 10th speak for itself! Keep spreading the word!
If you have'nt heard the creator of Wing Commander etc... is back and is hoping to champion the PC as the platform in gaming. I support this idea. To do this he is trying to make a space sim like we've never seen before. It sounds epic in proportions and looks amazing thus far. Give it a look like what you see? Then pledge I know I will be! I understand where you are coming from but the responses you are getting should have been expected this is system wars, if you want to have a real logical discussion about games that actually have a moral question or actually make you think you should probably find a different board devoid of moronic 12 year olds.
