Heylin_prince did a 10 most overrated list, and I'm responding with an underrated list.

1. Mudhoney

Listen to "Touch Me I'm Sick' and tell me it doesn't rock.

2. Sonic Youth

Okay, so they're known by every indie music fan and by many else, but theystill don't have a platinum album, only one gold.

3. Jane's Addiction

They have a 2x platinum album, but they still don't get enough attention. They had high charting hits, but the fact is, they are just as talented as one of my favorite bands, RHCP , and came out of the same funk-metal genre. The difference was, Jane's Addiction stayed funk-metal all the way, but RHCP went a little more mainstream. They deserve a 5x platinum album.

4. The Pixies

They got their dues recently, but back when they were rocking it up, they were unheard out of the underground. They're 100% awesome.

5. The Screaming Trees

Elmis once said "Just try and think of who the hell they are." He was right. How many of you know who they are. If you knew, you'd know they rocked. They were the most experimental grunge bands, adding in Pink Floydish influences, and even occasional jungle sounding songs. "Halo Of Ashes" is an awesome song with awesome riffs, and they desrve just as much recognition as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains, or at least one platinum album.

I'd do a top ten, but I gotta go to bed.

Another I would put in the ten would be Creedence Clearwater Revival, and I would need to think about others.

Note: hp- Please don't bring up the fact 3 out of 5 of these are grunge bands. Remember that if I listen to grunge, that's what I'll hear the underrated bands of, just like your top ten would have mostly metal.
