MOVIES
Ratatouille
Score 10/10
Quick Review: Ratatouille is simply put, one of the greatest, funniest, most clever movies I've ever seen. The animation is beautiful, the characters are very likeable, and the storyline is one of the most creative to date. A great movie.
Transformers
Score 8/10
Quick Review: This movie was nothing humongous and amazing, but it was entertaining and very fun. The plot was cool and clear, and made it more interesting. A good movie to watch if you have some spare time on your hands and don't know what to do with it. Good movie.
Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix
Score 9/10
Quick Review: A very good movie that stays true to the book. Nothing beats a cool plot with amazing special effects. The only reason it receives a 9 rather than a 10 is because I already know the story so I can't say it was unexpected or new or anything.
Now that I've reviewed the movies, I'll move on to...
BANDS THAT KICK BOTTOM
Bad Religion- My favorite punk band, and second favorite band overall. They have a keen sense of melody, with punk rage and old-school rock guitar sound.
Bottom Kickingness Factor: 10
Badassness Factor: 10
Bob Marley and The Wailers- Reggae would've been nothing without Bob. The best reggae band ever, with cool guitars added to it. They kick many bottoms, but arent very badass.
Bottom Kickingness Factor: 10
Badassness Factor: 7
Chuck Berry- One of the greatest guitarists of all time. Great songs like "Johnny B. Goode" and "Roll Over Beethoven" make him hard to dislike.
Bottom Kickingness Factor: 9
Badasness Factor: 8
The Clash- Very badass, and very bottom kicking. Such cool music is impossible to turn down.
Bottom Kickingness Factor: 9
Badassness Factor: 9
Foo Fighters- It's rare for a member of a formerly monster band to recoop after his band has fallen apart and start a new one that is actually good. However, somehow, Dave Grohl did it.
Bottom Kickingness Factor: 10
Badassness Factor: 9
Jack Johnson- The best soft rock musician ever. I've always loved his music, and always will.
Bottom Kickingness Factor: 10
Badassness Factor: 7
The Jimi Hendrix Experience-Where do I begin? He's Jimi Hendrix, that's explanation enough.
Bottom Kickingness Factor: 10
Badassness Factor: 10
Nirvana- Grunge's greatest band. They wrote the book on grunge, and wrote "Smells Like Teen Spirit, which has been called "The national anthem of grunge."
Bottom Kickingness Factor: 10
Badassness Factor: 10
Pearl Jam- I only own one CD by them, but they can rock.
Bottom Kickingness Factor: 8
Badassness Factor: 8
Pennywise-One of '90s punk's greatest bands. Good skate punk dominates almost everything else.
Bottom Kickingness Factor: 8
Badassness Factor: 10
Red Hot Chili Peppers- My favorite band. They're RHCP, can that be enough to say?
Bottom Kickingness Factor: 10
Badassness Factor: 10
Smashing Pumpkins- Defines alternative music. Billy Corgan is the best songwriter of the '90s and '00s.
Bottom Kickingness Factor: 10
Badassness Factor: 10
Social Distortion- Such a different kind of punk, it's weird. So weird, it kicks bottom. Kind of like punk with slight reminiscence of roots rock and country in it, but not to the point where it is that obvious.
Bottom Kickingness Factor: 10
Badassness Factor: 10
Sublime- What defines Sublime? What genre is it? These can be answered by one word: "skunk" (ska and punk). So different it kicks a thousand bottoms.
Bottom Kickingness Factor: 9
Badassness Factor: 9
That covers it, now for:
GUITAR SOLOS THAT KICK BOTTOM: IN ORDER OF KICKINGNESS
Voodoo Child (Slight Return)- My very favorite guitar solo, It's Hendrix's apex.
All Along the Watchtower- Hendrix's other apex.
Funky Monks- John Frusciante at his best.
Eruption- One of the only Van Halen songs I like alot.
Geek U.S.A.- Billy Corgan's best solo by far.
I Could Have Lied- The best slow solo I've ever heard.
All There Is- Brian Baker's best solo, as well as Bad Religion's best.
Tarantula- The coolest sounding Pumpkin's solo.
Fight Like A Brave- We all miss Slim and his funkiness.
Don't Take Me For Granted- Mike Ness is an underrated guitarist.
Burning of The Midnight Lamp- A cool wah solo.
The Wind Cries Mary- Hendrix. That's all that need be said.
Higher Ground- While RHCP's cover doesn't have a true guitar solo, it can't be denied that those riffs are very soloish and bottom kicking.
Fire- Surprise! Not Hendrix's version. Red Hot Chili Peppers play a much better solo for this song.
Purple Haze- Cool octave effect, and Hendrix.
Now you know everything you need to know about music, so know, it's time for
GUESS THAT SONG
I give you a line, you name the song. Here we go.
"Deep inside the garden of Eden/Standin' there with my hard on bleedin'/There's a devil in my dick and some demons in my semon/Good god no that would be treason"
Very disturbing lyrics eh. I'll add a line every day nobody can guess it, not counting today, considering this day has 7 hours left where I am right now.
A NEW SONG COVER...
Will be coming soon. In the mean time, here's the music video to the song I will be playing next.
