Step One Complete!

Phew! I was getting worried!

Yesterday my laptop finally came from Dell! And this one isn't screwy like the first one they sent! I know have an actual PC!!

So one of the first things I was wanting to do was test out the Capture Card that I got about a week ago, since I needed my laptop to do it. I installed everything and all that. Plugged it in to my Xbox and computer.

It was recording in Black and White.... I thought WTF!!!??? I kept trying to find out the problem, and I had figured that I needed to get a set of AV cables for my Xbox that was a full set of 5, since the ones I have now are the basic three (white, yellow, and red).

Then my dad noticed something totally obvious that made me feel really dumb... There's a set of plugs for the normal basic three AV cables on the front of my Capture Card... So we plugged it in via those and it worked.... I still can't believe I didn't think of that!!! lol

So then I was finally recording in full color, and I set it upto record a saved Halo 3 film of mine that is about six minutes long. So after it was done recording, I watched it on my computer. It turned out fine. Great quality, full color. I decided to upload it to Youtube for the heck of it. It uploaded fine, but when I went to watch it, it was all screwy and pixelated and stuff. It freaked me out!

So I thought "Well, the file is in MP4 format. I usually upload in WMV. I'll convert it and try again."

So I converted it to a WMV file and then tried to upload it again. It said that it failed to upload my file... I couldn't watch it at all....

But I got a thought... WHAT IF.. Youtube is maybe having trouble taking larger files? I'll make it really short and then try. So I edited it and made it a lot shorter. It's only about thirty seconds now. Then I tried to upload. Worked just fine.

I had to do that once before, cut down a video because Youtube wouldn't take larger files (even though it was only about six minutes long).

So everything's working now. :D

So now I have a functioning Capture Card... It's an HD PVR.. YOU HEARD ME!!! HD!!!!

My next step is to buy Sony Vegas (it's video editing software) so that I may truly start making Machinima and start my planned upcoming series. Can't wait! I might order it on Amazon tonight.

So, step one for getting this full Machinima train going complete! Soon.... WORLD DOMINATION!!!!!!!!!

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!

O.o

Also, if you wanna see the test video for my PVR, click here. Then just find it. It should be the featured video. Or at least very obviously labeled.
