I think I'm kind of done with GS. First everyone I respected on staff leaves and now they start giving out tens? GS might as well be IGN or anyother half--- site.

The overhype is what is cool about PM games.I was super excited for Fable 1, I played and I said to myself, "Crap, Peter M. is a liar, this game wasn't nearly as good as he said it would be."Then he started talking about the dog last year, and I was like "Oh what load of crap is he selling me now?"but after listening I was totally down with Fable 2.Same with this year. That said I think my expectations are a little more reasonable, I essentially expect Fable 1 with better graphics and more cool sounding but shallow sandbox features.
The PC is good if you want to obsess over 3 games a year.I still obsess over the 3-5 games I played 1999-2003, but now a days I'm more about new and different games.
[QUOTE="Kevin-V"][QUOTE="Udsen"]Kevin VanOrd rating a game LOWER than other sites? Wow! :shock:Udsen
I know--he overrates everything.
It appears as though I have awoken the real Kevin VanOrd.
Well, this is quite awkward.
I looked at Kevin's review record, and it's pretty balance, however I kind of had the impression he overrated stuff as well.He gets a lot of crappy games, but when he gets a pretty good one he gives it a 9.C&C3, RE4 Wii, NMH, AC, those games are legit but I'm not sure if any of those are 9s but the new review system kind of watered down the scores.I remember when 9.6 were like "Holy ----!GOTY!" and it was usually was.
Seriously, I haven't touched the thing in 6 months, it just kicks it on the shelf, and then I decide to whip out some EBA and it doesn't work… very sad.First how do touch screens break, second do I fix it?I have a blue DS Phat.
If you are depressed because of a game you are doing something wrong.Weslii
People cried over that FFVII thing.
I just think the term is over used and non-descriptive.Think about it, a lot of game, good games, aren't really "fun".Level grinding isn't very fun.Going back and collecting every banana, or whatever generic item it is, in a platformer isn't that fun either. There are a lot of things going for games, challenge, reward, atmosphere, engaging a skill, all of that I think branch away from "fun".
The game Track and Field is a piece of crap, but get a couple people playing it and it's enthralling.Getting your *** handed to you a couple times in Ninja Gaiden isn't fun, it's frustrating, but the time you finally beat that boss you are filled with a sense of accomplishment and reward. You also got better at the game and were engaging a skill.I actually had no fun whatsoever with Metroid Prime.I still liked it.Great game, but I don't think I cracked a smile once.MP was about atmosphere and exploration and puzzle solving and mediocre combat.I liked it, but also felt depressed just because the game seemed so lonely.Rhythm games I don't really think are that fun either, but you are engaging a skill that you can hone over time and when you bust out that Dragon Force solo it's pretty awesome, but your still just clicking buttons.
