Resident Evil 4 was a step up from the poorly translated "point and click adventure with a controller" that was Resident Evil 1, 2, 3 and CV. Dead Space 2 was my first Dead Space game and I thought it played out really well. You can't have an entire game of just "running away from everything" because you just wouldn't have a game at all. What would be the point if you can't turn around or come back to make your stand? Nobody's going to go for just getting through a story by running from point A to B the entire game in the upmost literal sense.
I don't want to see anymore "shrug your shoulders explanation" that we saw in MGS4 in the form of "it was the nano machines!" (wa wa waaaaaahhhhhh) nor do I want to see "I'M POSSESSED WITH THE VILLAIN OF THE LAST GAME!.........no wait, I'm actually not. I'm just pretending to be so I can control the world that I don't really want to control.."I hope codec easter eggs are kept as well as character depth (call them on codec, find out more and more about them). I'm fine with the codec when it's pushing the story along. What I don't want is the "nagging nanny" ala Rosemary.To keep this short, I'll state this. MOVE ON! Kojima saw Solid Snake to be dead in MGS4 with countless affirmations "he's dying, there's no going back" with nobody left from the Les Enfants Terribles project, nor their puppet masters or the AIs. So grow some balls, take a chance, leave Solid Snake behind and create a new "hero" for the progression of Metal Gear in the franchise, post MGS4. Quit hanging on to the past and don't make Solid Snake "magically reappear" from an old man with six months to live, back to his flawless image from MGS2. Take responsibility for the direction of the story and leave Solid Snake DEAD. You can't rely on prequels with the "locked in timeline" and Peace Walker brought Big Boss to 1974.
I'd say, give it a few more years. It's obvious it's way too early price and performance wise as you don't really gain much of anything. You're basically paying $400 so GTA4 can load 3 seconds faster. Even if I did have money to burn like that, I still wouldn't buy it. 3 seconds means nothing to me.
