@Keatz_ @DerekLee688 I got the rawest lesson when I couldn't finish Dead Space 2 offline because of a special edition costume that came with the game. I'll never buy add on stuff from EA ever again, unless it says that can't happen.

I think he overestimates the quality of the internet across USA, much less the rest of the world. Gamers don't want to spend $500 on a console, $45 a month on internet, and $60+ on a game for a chance the servers are down and sits on $650 of stuff I can't play.

Boo dead games with dead multi-player servers. Long live Westwood and the original C&C: Red Alert! Long live the single player horror game Dead Space. Boo DRM!

@unreal101 2mil sound like a lot to me. If I made $1 per sale I would be set for life, but would EA think the same?

5-10 years ago, there was a limitation on how you could control a character in "horror games". Look at Resident Evil 1 vs. RE:4+. Now, to sell a gamer a "true non-action horror game" you are basically selling a gamer a game that renders the player vulnerable and less capable compared to a game like Dead Space 3, which you can have a dual gatling rocket launcher and a suit of freaking space armor.

I figure the average gamer today likes to feel invincible, which makes a pure horror only game harder to sell. We all know, what is hard to sell, doesn't get made into a AAA title.

Looking at the "What's Hot" news section says EA is shutting down their Facebook Games Including SimCity Social and The Sims Social. Looks like you got to play old or the always online versions now. As to the real money currency used by those games and more, EA says you better use it now while the game is running. No refunds... Way to stick it to the consumer EA, you truly earned that worst company award.

Sounds like they don't like the free market business model, and as consumers we have to lose our freedom of choice and not actually own the things we buy, for them to make money. Sounds like they should charge $60 and give us DLC for free, or make the game cheaper to charge us for DLC.

They want us to get nothing for the money we pay them? Games are a service not property? You play what they let you play? Screw that.

Sounds like a sad day for Fallout fans. Legal battles and promises of games never to see the light of day all done for the company's sake and with no intention to provide a better product to fans. Crowd funded game by a gutted "Interplay"? Has the same hollow promise of a scratch off lottery ticket with the theme of a childhood love. Anyone seen "A Christmas Story", scratch off in any of your gas stations?

Can you play your saved singleplayer games without xbox live if you used any of this extra stuff in your game? I couldn't even use the limited edition suit/gun from Dead Space 2 without an XBL connection.
