Oh dude, for $2000 bucks, anything you want is yours.  I just bought a system from cyberpowerpc.com w/ an AMD 64 X2 5200+, 1GB RAM, GeForce8800GTS, 250GB HDD, and an ASUS mobo for a little over $1000.  If I didn't chicken out and built it myself (I've never done it), I would have saved over $150 w/ newegg prices and probably would have gone with the 8800GTX.  Anyway, point being $2000 is serious cash for a gaming rig, especially since you have a monitor already.

[QUOTE="9mmSpliff"]youre CPU is not draggin that card down. You have a fine amount of RAM too. Go for the 8800gts if you want to run all Dx9 games maxed and have the advantage of Dx10 with a Vista upgrade. x1950pro is a great card too tho.

So pretty much, decide when you are gonna do Dx10. A x1950pro will run any game maxed out @ 1280x1024. Oblivion and GRAW being the lowest. Jiggly_Wiggly
What Oblivion and graw will run on low heh? No... You can run them on good medium settings stable.

I'm sick of people saying absolutely ridiculous things about the requirements of Oblivion. I currently have a P4 2.5GHz, 1GB RAM (PC2700), and a vanilla PNY GeForce 6600. Oblivion auto detected me at medium and I was even able to turn on distance land, objects, trees, HDR, water settings are maxed, res is 1280 x 1024 and I tweaked the ini so there are more blood decals that stay on screen for like 10 min. each. No, my FPS isn't great at an average of 10 outside, 15 inside. The game is certainly playable and looks very good. I should probably cut down on some of the graphics for the sake of speed, but I don't want to.

Anyway, I just ordered a system from cyberpowerpc.com with an AMD 64 X2 5200+, 1GB DDR2 RAM, and a GeForce 8800GTS. I'm sure I can do better than medium settings on Oblivion with that thing.
