A bit off topic but did anyone else while watching Oblivion with Tom Cruise, mutter Jamie $%#&$ Lannister under their breath every time Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Sykes in Oblivion) came on screen?
Played the demo of this today, it does remind me of pikmin, except much faster paced, and a lot more action...there's even fruit and vegetables among other things to collect! :D
The controls were fine to me both touchscreen and using the right stick to make the shapes, making combos to take down enemies was rather satisfying, or deploying different unite forms at the same time, by pressing X after making a form.
The games looks fantastic, runs fluidly and provides challenging enemies to fight, making use of each different unite form to help take certain enemies down.
Obviously the demo only gives you a short portion of the game to try, and from what they've shown us there's much more to see.
@PeejayYeh Yeah thats not a bad idea, ive got soulsilver lying around here somewhere lol.
There is a certain appeal to yelling out "Jess use water gun! Now use Scratch!" XD Then again i could name my pokemon after the gamespot au team maybe, Jess, Zorine, Ed and Dan haha, maybe even Laura except that i would have to leave her at pokemon daycare to emulate her leaving.
To be honest though my sisters dog is already named Jess...purely by coincidence though :D
@PeejayYeh @Dizzy10 @DiamondDM13 Haha, respect fellow pc gamer.
It was more a joke really, the whole pc gamer master race thing lol. But seriously i would probably stick with ps4 if i was @DiamondDM13 Seems like better value and the psplus service is pretty good. Too bad you have to pay for it though.
Jess as a pokemon? Im just gonna say Totodile...because the last time i played pokemon was soul silver and Totodile was my starter...that cute little bastard. :D
If that ps4/vita bundle rumour is true, i figure sony must be pretty desperate to ensure they make a return on their investments. The vita isnt doing too well and they need to get as many people to buy the ps4 as possible to beat out microsft.
This game is amazing i love coming home from work to continue my adventure alongside my army of pikmin.
It looks great, runs great, and is fun to play.
It looks like a simple game but its quite challenging, often tactical in your employment of your pikmin especially in the boss battles, and what you do each day.
He mentions the control scheme, you can change control scheme on the fly by pressing a button on whatever controller you want to use it will automatically switch it for you. I personally play with the wiimmote/nunchuck combo and sit the gamepad either next to me or on my lap so i can use the gamepad for the map and info etc... while using the wiimote to play more effectively.
Also he says the pikmin get stuck, it doesnt happen often, the trick is to be aware of it and not leave them behind. You can also use the gamepad to tell your character where to go and he will run there automatically and the pikmin will follow him and will never get stuck or lost because they follow very closely behind you when you do it this way.
Overall a fantastic game, this is the first pikmin game ive played apart from the pikmin minigame on nintendo land, but i would easily give it at least a 9.
Haha yeah sometimes ill say no my pokemon are dying!...then be like wait no i mean pikmin! :D
