Hmmm, I haven't been on this account in quiet some time…
What can I say to explain that… Nothing! Lol.
Well to start off my name is Daniel.
I have a girlfriend yes, names Hayley, gamertag is Hayloiz.
I as of now own a 360, wii, and PC.
My PC is in the middle of upgrades at the moment, looking to just buy a complete new build soon, cause this one I'm on now is absolute trash :/.
But I digress.
One of the main reasons I'm posting this blog, is to talk about a feeling I think every gamer gets at some point, Or at least one that I have at the moment. No I'm not talking about the pride of getting every achievement in CoD4, Or perfecting your move's in street fighter. Nothing like that. It's the feeling of being overwhelmed by so many "amazing" blockbuster titles, that you don't know what to do with yourself. And the disappointment sets in when you realize all these blockbuster titles aren't as good as you thought they would be. So now you don't know what game to play. And you still want to play all the other games your haven't even had time to touch yet.
But the Biggest confusion of this feeling, is that I personally don't think games are what they used to be, what they were years ago. Giving you that amazing feeling of being in a epic journey, putting you in the shoes of the main character, feeling exactly what they feel.
Now I'm not saying that all the games that have come out in '08 are complete trash. A lot of good games have come out this year that I did enjoy quite a bit. Such as Gears of war 2, Left 4 dead, Grand theft auto 4, And little big planet, but none of them swept me off my feet, or gave me that epic feeling of accomplishment that games have in the past.
I miss games like Elder scrolls, portal, half life, kingdom hearts, final fantasy XIII, Call of duty 4, Bioshock. Hell world of warcraft even, which is doing better than ever yes, but doesn't feel like the good old WoW I used to play. I want that game that I'm going to want to come home from work and just relax and play. We NEED more games like that.
Maybe I'm the only one who feels this. I don't know, I'm probably just sounding like I'm rambling on about nothing. But I know there has to be someone else out their that feels this too, and I wanna find them, I'm going to post blogs more regularly now. With update and tidbits and things I find cool and stuff, So just look out for that I guess.
Here's to the new gaming year that is 2009!
