Do you ever have those moments where you see something but it doesn't register for a moment?

I had one of those as I turned out the lights to attempt to enter my nocturnal sleeping cycle. Then I realized I had seen a spider the size of a quarter on the wall above me. The lights came back on and I reluctantly killed it before it bit me.

I don't like spiders. Maybe it comes from playing so much Spider Fighter on the 2600. Sometimes I wish I had heat vision so I could just burn the spiders from far away.
