Filthy Competitors

I think it is odd Penny Arcade would use the term "filthy competitors" when referring to Gamespot. Whether in jest or in principle anybody associated with the Penny Arcade brand may want to question their use of the term "filthy."

PA's content is usually of the more base variety of comics; if we consider not only the scathing language with which they describe people, games, and situations, but also the content of their comics. Frequently their dialogue contains four-letter words most mothers would reward with a bar of soap.

Conversely, Gamespot has been known to practice a sort of smug intellectualism, or pseudo intellectualism depending on the editor. Their comments have been couched near the upper limits of reason and objectivity within editorials. Other than recent sightings of "Sunday School language" opinions painted with colorful language akin to a PR text.

When juxtaposed, the two seem different, though the games played are probably identical.
