Yep it's gone... poof! You should worry about the voltage way before the frequency.

I have heard of this problem with lost odyssey before. I believe it is because it is one of those games that just needs a really clean disc/new cd lens, etc. THat would be why it worked on your brothers xbox.
All you can try is putting the xbox down flat and see if that works. It should help because when the disc is in a vertical xbox, the disc is tilted a bit, putting more discance between the disc and the lens. Also, try installing the game.
I believe your wii is semi bricked. What you need to do is insert a jpn region game with a firmware update higher than the current version of your wii. This will update over and probably fix the problem.
There is no region filtering so you will get matched up international players on occasion. Or if you are outside and far away from the us, you will lag like hell most of the time cause your usually facing americans.
The wonders of xbox live.
Something is loose and not connecting completely so the heat expands the material of the xbox and temp reconnects the fault.
Your gonna have to keep on doing this =D
Red ring is a code for a certain internal error. for example, another certain part of the xbox getting a loose joint or connection. Very hard to cause externally.
Lag switching (standbying) is when the host dissconnects from the intenet for a few moment. In this time the game continues to run for everyone except all other players are no longer connected to each other. So everyone will continue to do whatever it was before the host disconnected (i.e. walk in a straight line). Players can kill each other, but it only apears so on their screens that they are killing each other.
Once the host reconnects everything will "update" to what ever was happening on the hosts xbox, So just like the players can kill lifeless and straightline walking opponents, so to can the host. THe only difference is that what happens on the hosts screen actually happens.
An example is that you meet the host, pick up a rocket launcher and blow him to pieces. The host may not have even looked at you or responded to your presence. This is because you never picked up that gun.... you never fired a shot at him.... and you never killed him... That was all on your screen and the host was probably standing in front of you the whole time beating you up with melee attacks.
I hope this helps those that are confused =D
