The Story of the Sooper-Dooper-Ooper-Compooter -- Day...I don't know anymore...

Sorry I haven't been bloggin'.
Two days ago I was too busy setting up my new PC.
And yesterday I was too busy Playing Counter-Strike Source and Day of Defeat Source!

Woo-Hoo!

Yes, it has been a success.
The new fancy computer has been accepted into this family.
I've been playin online games with the settings cranked to the max, and I experience no lag at all...

Now if you'll excuse me...I've got people to shoot in the face...

The Story of the Sooper-Dooper-Ooper-Compooter -- Day Three

Woo!

The order is in!

I have now bought an HP media center PC!

And the best part is...

I have an ATI Radeon x1900 GT graphics card!

Now I'm ready to shoot some people!

...But I have to wait until tommorrow to pick it up,
and I have to wait until, most likely, the weekend for my family to get our super-smart family member to put the files from our other computer on to this one...

(I keep tellin' mother "We can do it ourselves! It's not that hard!" But I shouldn't expect that much from her...)

All I have to say is:

Thank Lordy for the Geek Squad!

They are my heroes!
When I grow up, I wanna be
JUST LIKE THEM!

(I can't wait to drive that awesome little car...)

VROOM! VROOOOOM!........BEEP! BEEP!
GET OUTTA MY WAY LADY! I'M ON DA GEEK SQUAAAAAD!!!

Ohhhhh yeah,
That's the life...

I'll keep ya updated...

The Story of the Sooper-Dooper-Ooper-Compooter -- Day One

As you can guess, I am not happy with my current computer.  "Ol' Reliable", as I like to call it, is a four-year-old PC that was thrown together using seven-year-old, recycled parts.  Here are some of Ol' Reliable's tech specs:

(The following is graphic and not for the faint of heart...)

995 megahertz CPU
50x CD drive (that doesn't work)
3 USB slots
256 mb RAM
8 mb SiS graphics card
19 gb hard drive
17 inch monitor (not flat screen...what a suprise)
and a keyboard (with keys that are so sticky that it takes about one pound of pressure to push them down...)

The only thing I can be proud of is the Logitech Mx700 wireless mouse.

But here is the good news!

Yesterday, my family went computer shopping.

Our future PC is a HP m7660e with an AMD Athlon processor (dual core...woopee!).  Were throwing in a 21 inch widescreen flatscreen monitor, and a laser printer.  I'm also going to upgrade the graphics card to something with a little more "oomph".

Since that was yesterday, this is technically "day two".  But "day two" sums up to this:

"I sat around on Gamespot, dreaming about my new PC"

That doesn't make for a very interesting blog, now does it...

Thanks for listening,

From,
Dr. Phil
