I think achievements are a great idea, although I need to take them less serious. I don't go after them because I think it makes me awesome. I do it because the game is saying "See that thing there you can't do that". I just do it because I can, it's there to be done so I do it. If I can that is. Hmm, I think they should have something like a hard mode completion achievement. But I think they should also have a set of other types of achievements. But if you can't do it right don't do it at all. I think they should have completion of story mode or main quest achievements. Like 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, completion, hard mode completion. But some games over do this, this just gets repetitive. So I think it benefits the player and the maker if they use some achievements to encourage using all the features of the game sufficiently and expertly. So if you excel in one area it awards you, and if you use a previously unknown or under-estimated feature. Well I'm not a game designer so don't take my word for it. Also have you tried playing games not made by bioware?

My 5 through 2(and I love them all) are in no particular order: Spyro 3 My favourite platformer ever Age of Mythology One of the few strategies I've ever gotten into, but I haven't played many Oblivion Spent so long playing this, so fun Counter strike So much fun online or even with bots My First would undoubtedly be Half-Life 2. It is the pinnacle of single player fps. Great characters and storyline and characters, great atmosphere, awesome gameplay, the gravity gun, mostly great level design. I find my self playing it over and over again, which is uncommon for me. Sure there is no multiplayer, competitive or co-op, support. But the game can be forgiven for the greatness of everything else it did right.
