PS3 is looking more and more to be an overpriced Xbox 360... Not only that, but as a person who works at a Video Game Store (Read: EBGames), I'm tired of hearing the people talk about how they are unwilling to pay $400 dollars for an Xbox 360 when they're willing to pay $600 for a PS3 that has a DVD player that isn't even broken-in yet (Read: Blu-Ray retailing for $1000). I have owned every Sony Console since the PS1, including the PSP and the PSOne (slim) and PSTwo (slim). Considering all the talk that Sony put into the PSP and the huge let down it became, I'm beginning to lose my faith in sony. Moreover, I refuse to spend 4 paychecks (Read: 2 months) on a system that seems to have no technical advantage over the $400 console I already own and only had to spend 2 paychecks on. Also, developers of the "exclusive" titles have already discussed that they are considering taking these titles and putting them on the Xbox 360 anyway (Read: MGS4; Kojima himself stated the potential is there). Honestly, in the end it doesn't matter. People are going to buy what they want and I'm not here to tell you what to do or criticise anyone for it. But, if you want to take 2nd mortgages on your house for this thing, by all means do it. In the end, it's not what the system can do, it's what you take away. But knowing you spent $600 dollars on something that shouldn't have cost more than $400 can leave you with a really guilty conscience.
