Best game ever made

Yesterday I was thinking back to some old games that I used to play and Killer Instinct came to mind. That game was a lot of fun and I remember when it came out for the Super Nintendo that it came with a CD called 'Killer Cuts.' For the most part the music was pretty bad, but they were fun and a few of the songs were very cool.

This evening I found a website that streemed some of those songs and that got me thinking of other games that had music that I liked which made me think of the Mechwarrior 2 series soundtracks. What was great about them was that the CDs the game was made on used standard audio CD tracks so it could be played in a CD player. I fondly recall listening to those CDs in a Discman while falling asleep. (Same with Dark Reign, which also had a great soundtrack)

The desire to hear the soundtrack to Mechwarrior 2 led me to a website that had them to listen to. Hearing the old music again brought back some fond memories of my childhood and reminded me of how much I loved those games. Especially when they released NetMech which resulted in huge league competitions on Kali.

I have been playing video games and computer games since I was a very young child and I can honestly say that I never enjoyed any game as much as the Mechwarrior 2 games. I would cast my vote for Mechwarrior 2 being the greatest game ever made.

Joyous

Last night I went to the grand opening of a new game store in town and they were raffling off stuff. I won a couple hundred dollars worth of gaming miniatures. Not too shabby. Also completed another Space Marine

Back in the swing of things

I sure have been enjoying Rock Band since getting it for Christmas. I have completed the guitar and singing tours on expert and I'm working on the Drums hard solo tour currently. Way fun! I've also been playing Enternal Sonata and Armored Core 4 quite a bit.

Since I'm back in school and finally have some free time I have started painting figurines again. I finished one last nite. Here is a photo.

I'll update some more in the near future.

Activision Lameness

When Rockband was released for the Playstation 3 many gamers were expecting their Gibson Les Paul from Guitar Hero III to work with it allowing them to have a full band of 2 guitars, drums, and a singer. However the guitar did not work with the game. Harmonix quickly made a patch to enable the guitar to be used, but what has happened to it? Apparently Activision does not want people using their guitar with Rock Band and they have instructed Sony to not allow the distribution of the patch.

The 360 version of Rockband does work with the 360 Gibson Les Paul and I was considering purchasing Guitar Hero III so I could play both games, however after reading of this I have decided unless Activision changes its mind I am not only not getting Guitar Hero III, but I am going to boycott Activision entirely. That may end up being a good thing... it will save me money.

Anyway, I sent Activision a letter with my thoughts on the matter. I encourage anyone else who thinks this is silly of Activision to also speak out and let them know.

Gaming Goodness

It has been a while sinceI updated anything on here. I am still in northern california working my tail off. I was able to get a copy of Halo 3 on Tuesday and have been playing it whenever I have free time. Definitely my favorite Halo game.

I only have one month left here and then I will finally be going home to finish my last semester in college. I took this semester off to work and take a break from school. I can't say that I'm excited to go back to school.

Longest Weekend Ever

I just got home from a business trip to Phoenix.  I worked pretty much the whole day yesterday, got a new tire (hooray warranties), worked at one of my other jobs until 1:00am, went home and slept for a few hours, woke up at 5:30am to go back and finish up a few things before leaving for Phoenix.

This time on the way back from Phoenix one of my friends got a flat tire and needed help because he didn't have his wrench for some reason.  So, dealing with everything today kept me out until 9:30pm and now I am working on getting things organized at home for leaving tomorrow for California for the next few months.  FUN STUFF!

Finis

This is my last week of the semester.  Fortunately my professors are allowing me to take my finals early.  I'm leaving this weekend for California to work all summer. I am very excited to get out and start working hard and making lots of money.  It will be especially nice to be working with a lot of friends during the summer.

I was in Best Buy yesterday and saw the new Xbox 360 Elite.  Very nice!  I will likely buy one soon.

Tired

I haven't gotten very much sleep lately.  Still working multiple jobs and trying to keep up in my school work.  So far this week I've had a lot of group project work to do.  I am really sick and tired of group projects, especially this far into school.  Two years of continous group projects get really old.  They should have us do some earlier in school and then let us go back to individual work.

I haven't had any time to paint.  Hopefully over the next few days I'll have some time to finish another miniature.  Painting is very relaxing and enjoyable to me.

I am excited for this coming summer and so are all of my technicians.  We will have a great summer and hopefully make lots of money.

Quite a week

Things ended up well last week.  I got an A on my exam and the University LAN party was a big success.  Like 50-60 people showed up and played games all night.  I spent most of the night playing on the Wii with friends and Guitar Hero on my friend's PS2.  I woke up this morning and had a hard time believing it was Monday.

Bad news today...  I met with my advisor and it's looking like I may end up graduating in May, 2008 instead of this December because one class I wanted to take that fulfills two requirements is only offered in the Spring.  I'm at the point now that I just don't care anymore.  If I busted my butt I could finish up everything taking a winter class, but I may take a brake from school during the Fall and finish up in Spring '08.

Stress

I am finally at home studying for an exam I have tomorrow.

Between school, working on campus, and recruiting/interviewing for another company I work for I am usually at the school for 12-13 hours a day and then I have to do homework.

3 jobs + full time student in a demanding major + being married + taking care of my dog = stress

At least I don't have a kid.  I think that would make me snap.

I'm also pleased that I am currently one of the top recruiters in the company.  This summer is going to be AWESOME.
