Started playing one of most favorite Third-person shooters of all time, yeah, the first Max Payne game.
The impressive graphic novel cutscenes, the slow-motion blurs during hectic gun fights across torn down shady venues in the cold depths of New York, and ofcourse, the unforgettable gritty metaphors Max spews out every random minute.
The sequel was alright for my tastes, a large graphical improvement and shooting is more classy than ever but there was just something about the original that makes it a foot above.
I think it's because there's no romance getting in the way, no wandering sub-plot in the mix, no excess of characters.
And there's no other conspiracy or tragedy down in front of Max's feet other than seeking vengeance for his wife and child's death. It's just Max Payne, guns, mobsters, and a whole lot of adrenaline and ammunition.
