Another case here.

Two times I've sent my xbox in for repairs to Germany due to RROD. After the second time it got 'repaired' I also got my disc drive not recognizing discs. Even new games i just got out of the store and it said 'unplayable disc'. Sometimes I had to open the drive about 100 times before it finally read them. Lately it wasn't so bad anymore, about 5 times or less of opening and closing be4 reading.

Now last week a new problem occured. While creating a char in Soul Calibur IV, the screen got green tints all around. I shut down the console, and the day after when I restarted it the screen gave a 'no signal' sign. With the towel trick i've managed to get screen back but within minutes the colors started to mess up again. Called microsoft, and the annoying dude I got on the line there was all like 'the xbox has gr8 ventilation and is cool all the time'. Yea right, that thing overcooks itself every 5 months. So I told him I bought a ventilation device after the 2nd repair to get it a lot cooler, and ofcourse, this self-called 'computer expert' gave the whole blaim to that. Cause it 'isn't a microsoft licensed product' bla bla. I told him that these things wouldn't be on the market anyway if the box itself didn't have such a screwed up ventilation. Also told him that I didn't have the ventilation device connected anyway since 4 months or so, since it made a lot of noise and the household here wasn't amused with that. I started thinking that this way I was never gonna get free repairs, so I started telling that I also had RROD a few times between all this. Then he immediately got in friendlly mode and told me that they'd send me a box and the whole bla di bla procedure.

The other 2 repairs I got the shipping labels emailed, and packed the box for UPS myself. In 1 day my box would be sent for repairs that way. Now after 1 week and still no box (while they said 3-4 working days) I just called them again. This time a more helpfull guy. I asked him if they could send me labels via email and that i'd pack it myself. He said that the box should be on its way and that it should've been here by now. He also told me that they only send boxes to people who have had several issues with their xbox. And that the repair centre would give priority to these kinds of boxes, so that it wouldn't take as long as sending a box myself. Is this true or false story I wonder? Cause my box couldve been gone like 5 days now if i'd packed it myself. A little extra information on this issue would be helpfull!
