Hi, I need to remove my Core 2 Duo CPU and transfer it to another motherboard. I barely used the CPU (5 minutes total) and was wondering if I need to add some thermal grease before installing the Intel stock fan on the new motherboard.

Also, do I need to remove everything (CPU, video card, Ram, etc.) before clearing the CMOS (don't ask me why I want to do that, just a simple question)?

And finally, do you know if every Gigabyte P35-DS3L rev 2.0 comes with at least the BIOS version F2?

Thanks for any answers.

Hi,

I currently have a Creative SB X-Fi Fatal1ty sound card. I'm considering buying the Logitech Z-5500 5.1digital speakers.

Here's the problem : If I use the digital output (optical or coax) on the sound card (with the appropriate I/O digital panel provided by Creative), the two rear speakers aren't going to work. So I'll basically have a 2.1 configuration... The problem is not related to drivers, but to X-Fi technology itself, so I'll have to use analog.

My question : Is there a big difference, in terms of sound quality, between analog and digital? I play a lot of games and listen to music, but I don't watch dvds, so I really don't care about DDL and DTS.

Thanks for any answers.

I'd be surprised if you did. Unfortunately, can't really think of else, and it's difficult to diagnose without being in front of the PC. I did find this on newegg: "Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry you are having a problem. This unit will power the 8800GTS, so you may have a load balancing issue, or possibly a unit that was damaged in shipping. Please visit out support forums at the link below for technical assistance." I don't know if that will help or not.ishkoo

''This unit''. What are we talking about here? Power supply? Idon't think I understand that quote you found on newegg.

Make sure the RAM is all the way in (both tabs in) and that the sticks are in the right slots. At least, that's what it sounds like to me. I had my PC running for over 3 months with the heatsink only "mostly" on. ishkoo

I pushed VERY hard to put the RAM in their slots. Maybe I just broke them?

Hi, I just bought an Intel e6750 cpu and I was wondering if the orientation of the heatsink is important, because my computer isn't working at all.

Thanks.

Hi, I just bought an Intel E6750 2,66Ghz with a GA-P35-DS3R mobo. Everything works fine, but when I run Cpu-z, I see my cpu speed is 2,00Ghz. Instead of being 333mhz*8, it's 333mhz*6...

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Btw, I'm on Windows Vista.
