Happy Holidays

Only a few more days until Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and most other winter holidays. Have a good season and a happy new year. Best wishes to all and enjoy time with family.

City Life

Animal Crossing: City Folk is only 2 days away.  I've been a fan of the series since the Gamecube, back when AC wasn't as popular as it is now, and Nintendo Power used to post some design templates in a section of the magazine.  I wish they would revive that, as City Folk is sure to be an amazing experience, since it combines many of the aspects that made each game memorable, as well as allowing you to put a part of yourself into the game.I also hope to get Wii back online as fast as possible so I can experience the full game, and interact with others.

Still thinking of a town name, trying not to be lame, but I am E, and that is how it will always be.

Hope to see you on if you plan on buying it, I'll post my friend code here as soon as I get it.  Have a nice day everyone.

Once more... Into the past.

Yet again I seem to have dragged my Genesis, and most Sonic games, as well as Flicky and Vectorman out of the basement... I don't think I'm going to send them back either. Played through all 6 Sonic games (1, 2, 3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic Spinball, Sonic 3D Blast), and feel like they are still as good as when they came out. Not sure why I'm compelled to bring it back so often, but I don't think it deserved to be put back into the box and left in the basement anymore. Still looking forward to Sonic Unleashed, but the werehog part is somewhat strange to me (I have played the Hulk: Ultimate Destruction on Gamecube and thought it was good, but making Sonic be that way is awkward).

Stereotypes

It bugs me that when I say that I spend quite a bit of time gaming and only about 30 minutes a day exercising, people say something that implies they think it means overweight and living in someone's basement. Honestly... I'm tired of all stereotypes... I know for a fact girl gamers are not a myth; race or religion doesn't make anyone a bad or good person, it's the choices they make; and darkness =/= evil just like light =/ good, though it is commonly portrayed that way, which also bothers me. I know some people epitomize stereotypes, but that doesn't mean everyone is like that.

Revisiting Memories

I decided to get my Genesis out of the basement to replay Sonic, 2, 3, and Sonic & Knuckles. They still have the same quality and are just as fun as they were when they came out, and it's always nice to hear the familiar music of Green Hill Zone, Icecap Zone, Chemical Plant Zone, and Flying Battery Zone. Even after so much time, even the boss fights against Robotnik retain their challenge (nothing like jumping from hardened lava block to another while the stage slopes and the spikes come from the magma or even the laser dodge in Flying Battery Zone). The games might have passed and returned (Sonic Mega Collection/ Wii points), but in my opinion the crescent shaped controller is the best way to get the feeling of nostalgia and the way it was back then.
