Witcher 3 was awesome, I laughed, I cried, I cheered. At the end of the year though, the only game I ever wanted to platinum and then immediately start another character was Bloodborne. 2015 was a fantastic year to be a gamer.
@kazeswen: Yea dude I don't get your hate. "are you kidding me" is not an argument. Games evolve slowly, that's just the nature of multimillion dollar budgets. You cant drop something totally new and unfamiliar and expect lightning in a bottle every time.
You could argue FROM has been making the same game since King's field, they just get better every release. Now we have Bloodborne, which is the result of 25 years of experience refining and tweaking a formula. That game is f'$#*ing incredible. I dont see how that's a bad thing.
Maybe youre just done with games dude. Thats ok too.
@biggest_loser I liked flower and I hated this. Its like an even more pointless flower. The levels were not relaxing, just annoying, the joining of the two 'spirits' had no real payoff and the graphics were like a ps2 game.
I enjoy a zen hipster game from time to time but this missed the mark for me.
@mwmars Ive been playing middle earth but not middle earth games for most of my life, just the names have been changed. I'm interested to see how this turns out.
I'm cautiously hyped for this. The combat sounds like a mix of AC and the Arkham series. The nemesis system piques my interest up a few notches. Games are in dire need of an AI and narrative revolution. Im excited to see how these features turn out and will make or break the release for me. I hope it's ultimately not watered down to make the game more "accessible"
Id much rather see it go more in the hard core direction like dark souls and build its audience that way. If combat is so easy or button mashy or our abilities so overpowered that we don't need to interrogate or recruit then what's the point? How death is handled is also very interesting. After dark souls I just wont play games that simply return you to a checkpoint after death anymore, or encourage you to just reload a save. Im done with saving and reloading in games.
Its looking like a day 1 purchase barring any bad news. The voice actors are icing on the cake. Im hoping WB games goes the route of CDProjekt and limits the 'exclusive' content BS but I won't hold my breath on that one.
