I'm surprised that this review didn't include anything about the endgame...

@jwhdavidson I appreciate you directly responding to my comment. While I agree with most of the points you mentioned, there is one thing that I'm not too sure about. I don't think that the Gamespot audience (or people who regularly visit gaming sites) will be the main group that Sony is targeting. People who regularly visit these sites are aware of the system's shortcomings (memory prices, less than desirable interface, etc), so they are more able to make an informed and intelligent decision about the purchase. I personally think that the people buying this system will be the so called "casual hardcore" audience (the people that regularly play games like COD, FIFA, etc). These people play a TON of video games but aren't necessarily "gamers." They also don't have any interest in visiting these sites or being generally informed about the gaming world. They just want to play the "new" thing, and carrying around these types of games might be incredibly enticing to them (Sony's ad campaign seems to cater to these people). Anyways, it's just a thought. I wish I could have this conversation over something other than this comment box!

While I agree with the fact that handheld gaming is changing (with the iPhone, Android phones, etc), I don't think that it is "doomed." In my opinion, Gamespot is pushing that theory a bit harder than they should (they're stating it as fact, when it's really not--look at how well the 3DS is doing). Besides, Sony and Nintendo aren't trying to get EVERYONE who plays portable games to get one of their handhelds, they're only trying to capture the part of the market who are interested in a portable gaming device (which is a perfectly profitable venture). Also, stop pushing Angry Birds so hard like it's newsworthy! We all know it exists! I've played it while on the metro, on the bus, etc, but the fact remains that a shallow and over-hyped franchise doesn't satisfy my gaming urges AT ALL. If you wanna push a game for portable platforms push Infinity Blade II or other legitimate portable games.

I'm fairly sure that everyone bought the console because of future releases...I know I did.

The set pieces in the missions are by far the best part. They should be comparing those scenes to Halo 3's.

This game is amazing, and I'm really happy with the look of it. In my opinion, I've played every MMO (hyped one) that came out since wow, and this is the first one that I think has it beat in gameplay. I am sooo pleased with it but sad to see that I think I'll quit wow for this

This is ridiculous. 3 versions of one hand held? I don't even play my PSP "1000" very much, so I don't think the upgrade would be worth it for me
