Higher model numbers are better.... " Not necessarily true for a Radeon 9800 will trounce a Radeon X1300, so a higher model number does not indicate a better card. At least as far as Radeon is concerned the thousands place denotes a generation where as the hundreds place denotes entry level, midrange, or high end in that generation. Ie: current gen; x1300 entry level, x1600 midrange, x1800 high end and for previous gen its as follows; x300 entry, x600 mid, x800 high.
