I really don't agree with the point about basic combat mechanics making dry battles; at level 35 I'm starting to realize how ruthlessly important it is to have proper spells, timing, and movement for some enemies, let alone bosses. The battles are actually quite dynamic after level 20 in my opinion, and are probably even more so at level 50.
I also don't agree with docking a game based on the fact that multiple classes means you have to grind a bit. Kevin, it's an MMO, of course you have to grind. Griding and MMOs go hand in hand, so why should this game be docked for something the entire genre does? If anything, this game should be PRAISED for the fact that you have to do virtually zero grinding when you level up your first class all the way through to 50, should it not?
Saying that, you and Chris are still hands down the best reviewers on this site. The review itself (other than the points above, in my opinion) is detailed and more than fair. Great job as always, and a refreshing relief after seeing GTA V - one of the greatest games of all time - get docked points because a transgender woman didn't agree with how women were portrayed in the same series that has consistently portrayed women that way since its inception.
How the hell is this even news? It's not relevant to the gaming industry in any important way whatsoever. Seriously, how did someone make an article out of this?
Great call Gamespot. I've LITERALLY been coming here for nearly ten years now, and never had an issue with anything whatsoever.
And now all of a sudden you've decided to force people to disable ad-block and watch your BS 30 second ads every time I want to watch a video? Screw that, I'll go to IGN from now on. I'm not downgrading my internet browsing so you can shove corporate nonsense down my throat every time I want to watch a video. Fix this crap man, seriously.
"'The Call of Duty franchise continues to set the bar for innovation and we expect the new Call of Duty game in development for 2013 to raise that bar even higher'"
lmao, "innovation" and "Call of Duty" are the two biggest antonyms we have in the English language... this guy is hilarious
It sure is a good thing that every single one of their Halo 2 screenies is hideously blurred/dark/pixelated. Really helps make a great comparison, don't you think?
