Video Reviews

I've decided to start making video reviews of the free-to-play games that I have thus far tried and upload them on youtube. As much as I love writing reviews, personally, I form an opinion better when seeing what the game is about visually rather than with words. I've already started working on my first review, which will be on Shaiya. There's a small criteria to how I will go about these reviews:

  • For every game that I play, the minimum level requirement I must reach is level 10 and the maximum level is 20 (or more if I decided I want to personally continue playing). I know the minimum level requirement is quite low, but I feel that if a game can't immerse you in within the first ten levels, it's not doing its job. I don't like wasting my time trying to get to level 30 because "maybe that's when the game will get better." A good free-to-play game will catch your attention and make you want to play because it's fun, not because "it might be fun."
  • Even if I've played the game before, I'll play it again and start a new character.
  • I won't play the same class for every game. I usually make priests/clerics/healers in the event I ever like the game and want to level a class that is needed in almost every major MMORPG. I will switch it around, whether it be a warrior, rogue, swordsman, archer, assassin, mage, priest, summoner, etc.
  • All games reviewed will receive a number rating out of 10 at the end. It's not a definite number so don't take it to heart, if you really want to know whether a game is worth your time, read my reviews or watch my videos.

Side Note: I'm a pretty harsh reviewer as I've been playing MMO for many years and consider myself somewhat of an expert. You don't have to agree with what I say in my reviews, they are mainly for entertainment as well as some information regarding free-to-play games (mostly MMO's). Also, feel free to request a game for me to review- they can even be browser-based like Adventure Quest (just not stupid little flash games, hopefully you know the difference).

Reviews

Hey Everyone =) I've been a longtime lurker of GameSpot and decided to join. I highly enjoy trying new games and writing reviews on them, which are usually posted on my website. However, I figured my reviews would benefit and most contribute to people here at GameSpot. I'm currently reviewing Shaiya and will have it up soon on my website (within the hour) as well as a review of Adventure Quest. Unfortunately I can't post my reviews here on GameSpot yet as I'm not level 3, but I shall be soon! Till then you can find me on Twitter for updates. P.S. Any requests for games that I can play and write a review on would be much appreciated!
