@skektek: Well, sometimes you have hope that they're gonna be back in the leagues with good reviews, I mean after 10 years, it is supposed to be that way, right?.
If some good people left the company, you go find new guys with good criteria. But for what I see (and read on the comments), not the case here. (Sorry but I haven't been here like before, I don't know which editors/reviewers are here still)
@zmanbarzel: I didn't mean it that way. I meant that, after all her full analysis, the resume puts all the goods which are tons, and for that tiny negative argument (which is only a matter of personal perception) is enough to give it just a 9, not even a 9.5, a 9. I don't know if I explain myself properly this time.
I've seen good games, with yes some issues that make them properly be scored as 9, those issues could be: weak storyline, short single-player campaign, rough gameplay, multiple in-game bugs, not so organic mechanics, not easy to follow through, not innovating from previous games, etc. and yet they give it a 9 in the best cases. RDR 2 (as far as I've played it) has none of that, it does not deserve to be added in that sack when I see fucking Mario games with tons of issues given a 10 score.
I'm starting to believe that Gamespot has something against Rockstar somehow... first GTA5, and now RDR2 with this ridiculous "reviews". When the rest of the internet declares them a game of a generation, a new standard for open world games, here I read this:
"Semi-realism elements take you out of the experience rather than draw you into it"... OMG for real??? for an almost 40GB game that is so deep in details, mechanics and stuff to do, this argument is enough to drop a score to 9?. I simply don't get you guys. I've seen in this website scoring 10 to games with plenty more serious fails than this one (cof..cof.. some nintendo games), and is not even a fail. I'm done guys.
ohh and still get me on my nerves with these "experts editors reviewers" that gave Red Dead Redemption a fucking 9.5... it's 2017 and one of the biggest bullsh*t scores Gamespot ever allowed themselves to publish
