We have Storage discs(not CDs), SDcards, FlashBoxes, Memory Carts, and tons of others, a lot of which all allow expansion for extra content as well (but would prevent developers from sealing off part of the game and it would have to be external only, which is a good thing. It is time for CD gaming to come to an end, because we don't need it! We can still have boxes!Cardboard, plastic Metal! But we no longer need the flimsy, easy to break, CD's that slowly stream, and because we have yet to get around 8-10X speed for CD like media)including DVD boray etc.) this won't change and lasers will always take the blunt of punishment while playing a game. Especially ones that push the consoles. Yet not, sealed memory in hard format with chip scans and other types are severely cheap. 10 Gigs for $5 per manufacture!!!!! In tons of fromats! These will stream the game to your screen without issues and less moving parts! Fast no loading times, graphics all in place, no pop=in, no load screens, no random freezing or slowdown with bad lasers! No more bad DLC practices like you see on Microsoft Cashbox 360! But people don't think about it why? People are debating against it why? Those will last longer for years, and consoles will have less failure rates! Who is with me!?

Not necessarily so.

I simply think it was an "edutainment" device. (suitable for schools, presentations and such)

edit: it's even classified as a "interactive multimedia CD player" on Wikipedia so I don't see the issue not seeing it as a "proper" games console.

I wonder if you own one or played any of it's games. probably not as usual.

Actually, yes, I did play it. ;)

They had one at a shopping centre when I was a kid and I got to see and try it out.

It was nothing special as a game console, but I wouldn't need to try it out to realize that.

I played a Xbox at a Sears and I played 20 minutes of Madden, i guess all the Xbox has is Madden.

I don't understand what is going on. The name was taken, I had no other way and spaces are not allowed. I am a big sonic fans, so Emerald_warrior should be an obvious name choice. But if it's against the rules maybe a mod can change my username?

I would give it to Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic had lost a ton of relevance on the Saturn, and people were thinking twice about those high ratings Sonic Adventure 1 got with all its many problems. The solid quick gameplay, Shadow, and the sense of speed in Sonic Adventure 2 saved Sonic and it got it back on the map even increasing sales for Adventure 1. It was and still is an amazing game. As a runner-up, Sonic CD, you need to own both the U.S. and the EU/JP version for the music, the time traveling awarding speed, and tons of content and hours of play. Last of the top 2 would be Shadow the Hedgehog, it was a good game, and people saying it was not a good Sonic game but a good game need to realize it's not a Sonic game in the first place. It was pretty well made and much better than other Sonic games at the time after Sonic Adventure 2, including the horrific Sonic Advance games, and the Sonic Riders spin-off.
