The first kingdom that we visited at Disney World was MGM Studios. While most may think that this place is boring, it really is interesting. It mostly consisted of shows, featuring Disney characters, and some of other great movies. The first show that we went to was an Indian Jones Adventure, the actual stunt double for Harrison Ford played the part. The show contained famous action scenes from the past movies, each taken with a different stage. There was fire, a good bit of it too, I could feel the heat, and I was sitting in the back, for a good view that is.
After the Indian Jones Show, we traveled over to a pilot episode of Undercover Live, a show starring Drew Carey. While the show was about 12 minutes, we only saw about 5 minutes of it because the other 7 minutes was in "complete and total darkness." We used headphones to hear the show, as the camera that we viewed from was a pin on Carey's tie. What was great about this was the amount of felling given through the headphones. Whatever was happening to the officer, almost felt like it was happening to you. At one point in the show, there were bees, and I was looking around, it felt as if I had fallen into a nest of swarming bees. All of the great sound parts happened in the dark, and the audience got wet at the end when an elephant appeared and sprayed us all.
After this show we went to get a fastpass ticket, which lets you reserve a spot for a show at a later time, for Startour, which is a Starwars ride. As we had time before we could enter, we took off again, and went into the next show, Muppets in 3-D. They were just as lively as before, and still just as funny. Naturally the 3-D elements were small, but they did add impact to the movie. As that show finished we returned to the Startour, which was about to begin.
As we went in, we saw many different robots and a center for deploying ships. We took a ship and prepared fro a tour of a certain planet. As we got started the ship jumped to light speed, and then stopped. Now as we quit light speed we run into comets, which marked the beginning of many bumps and jumps as the robot pilot maneuvered us through the mass of icy material. As soon as the ship made it out of the comets we found ourselves caught in a tractor beam as a battle between the Empire and the Republic got underway. As a couple X-Wings saved us, we began to attack the Empire, specifically the Deathstar. Of course we took it out, with more bumps, and as soon as the ship was clear of the area, another light speed jump was made to send us back to the facility.
After such a great ride, we travelled to a car show, which was full so we fastpassed that too. Now having fastpasses, the next stop was somewhere down the road, the Valley of the Little Mermaid would of been good if it wasn't full, so we somehow ended up on the backlot tour. Here we saw how some special effects are created, and we also got wet by a torpedo. After that segment of the show we jumped on little trolley type things, and took a ride around the back of the studio. Here is where you could see memorabilia of old movies as well as some items from movies that had just been finished. By now it had started to rain and the set began to use its own rain and flooding effects to show us how real Hollywood rain is. Naturally this happened after we pulled into a mountain set area, more flames and water to ensure that people got wet, it was an enjoyable ride. A little later we returned to a different part of the station, where they had models of villains from certain movies. Darth Vader along with a Storm Trooper, an Alien, Cruel De Vil, an Ape from Planet of the Apes, and a Dragon from Reign of Fire, all of the models looked great, and very realistic. Most of them were life size, specifically the human type ones, not the ape or the dragon.
Walking along we found another show that was close to starting, the Disney Animation tour. Here I found how the characters of Disney came about and certain characters that never made it. The main character we heard about on this tour was the dragon Mushu, from Mulan, but they also branched off to talk about Pochantas and her turkey friend... Initially Pochantas was suppose to have three friends, a raccoon, a hummingbird, and a turkey. (Note from what I saw that turkey was purple and a bit strange looking.) Sometime later, though, they decided to scrap one of her friends and Meko got squashed. Later again, they figured that the turkey was a bit weird, so instead they brought back Meko and tossed the turkey.
Mushu was initially two separate deities and neither of them were dragons exactly. Eventually the deities took on the body of a snake and the head of a camel, to make the body of Mushu, the only problem was that he had two heads, which was easily fixed. That was pretty much what they showed us, as we walked into the other room, many sculptures of Disney villains and some supporting characters from the movies. Here was where people could get autographs from Mr. and Mrs. Incredible. Before we left we saw a short preview of a new Disney and Pixar movie, called Chicken Little, the details looked great, as always.
By the time we finished with this part of the Kingdom, it was time to go to the Extreme Motor Stunt Show, the car show. As we filled in the sits, the show began, with amazing high speed driving. It was pretty much many chase scenes between the hero car, which was some super secret spy guy with a red car, and the other guys who drove black cars. Flames where everywhere, along with amazing jumps and great reverse driving. Of course these driving stunts were explained, by having two cars, one with the wheel in the front, and the other with the wheel in the back. It was a very exciting show, and as we left I thought nothing could be that great, until I went on the Hollywood Tower of Terror.
As we approached the ride, I saw the people go all the way up and come all the way down, and it was pretty high. I walked into the first room, and I thought it was the elevator. Sure there was a couple of T.V.s in there, but still I was already getting nervous. As we exited that room, I saw the many elevators for the tower, and that was my mind told me I was going to die. As we got onto the elevator, it slowly moved up to the first floor, we were in the basement. Here we saw some creepy little ghost man...scary. After he left we went to the second floor, here was the beginning...a family of ghost appeared with massive amounts of lightning and darkness, and the elevator began to move forward. My cousin was ready to grab the bars and hold on tight, being that he is only 11. I sat in my seat and began to wonder...are we going to continue up slowly or extra fast...I soon had my answer as the elevator accelerated at probably 50 or more mph straight up. As we went up the doors opened showing the outside of the park, and many other areas. As soon as we reach the top, it was a drop...not a light drop either, practically all the way down. I thought it was over, but then up again, and down again. It was repeated at different heights for a good minute. Being that I don't really like heights...I sort of closed my eyes at certain points, but yet I opened them to see outside. By the end of the ride, I sort of didn't want to get up...but after I got out I wanted to go again. That was the last stop at MGM Studios, being that all the others had long lines...and we were all tired. So we went home to rest up for the Fourth of July and the Magic Kingdom!
