Back to the basics sounds boring considering what they were and what the limits of an E rated game give you... pokemon B&W were the first games to really give me a thrilling story that actually made me care about the prologue. People need to get over their nostalgia and allow the potential stories to grow in depth. Since story is all pokemon is mainly about then I'd hope they'd gradually go as deep as atlus and give us stories where we can reflect on them or remember the significant parts of it. Generic villains with generic Ambitions just don't cut it anymore. So far Team flare looks so forgettable.
Well now that they are moving on to 3D I think they expand the player mechnics even more so than the gameplay alone. They could increase player to NPC interactions or create some kind of socializing system for the player to make the enviroment more life like instead of just everyone ignoring you... they could go the personal route.
I think this series should comeback under THQ, it seems like the perfect game for them to try considering its so similar to saints row the third on the basic blue print. This was a good series though the potential was heavily wasted by not expanding very much. I think this franchise deserves a reboot and brings some diversity to gaming which hasn't been very high lately.
