What in the world would make you think it will have an engine like RE5? That makes no sense.

If we look at Obsidian's other games sequels, like KOTOR II, they used the same engine as the original, albeit tweaked. And when I did do a search, there were numerous sources saying it will be using the same engine. Now thats not a sure thing at this point, but I am fairly certain that since bethesda approached them, and is publishing the game, and its due out next year...It would be a pretty good guess that they would be using the same engine, rather than building their own or using the one from...RE5.

Can't wait. I love obsidians writing/storytelling. Its definitely their strong suit.

Just to make it clear, Fallout New vegas is being developed by Obsidian, which houses many members of the former Black Isle studios, who made Fallout 1 and 2. This is fairly exciting, and if its being biuilt using Bethesda's resources and engine, this is doubly exciting as it is the best of both worlds.

I doubt New Vegas will be just a 'side project' or a throwaway half game- with the engine already built, and Im sure Obsidian already has a complete story in mind(after all they did start making their own fallout 3 a couple years back) Im sure this will be a quality game. It is exciting.

All the while, we also have Bethesda next Fallout entry to look forward to as well. Sweet.

There is a demo available on XBOX Live.

That is what I played, and although I still cant give you a full experience, my initial impressions were not great. Its sort of superficial, but if it is indicative of the rest of the game I would not reccomend it. It was strange, for the most part, the graphics and the way it played were reminiscent of Morrowind reather than Oblivion. The combat was clumsy, and the animation was really awkward. It WAS glitchy, and the demo actually froze while I played it.

I cant say much for the story, but whether youd want to stick around for it is in question. Try the demo, or even rent it. I would NOT just go out and buy it without trying though.
