Been reading through a load of comments on various FPS games set in WWII era. Loads of people are slating games that are due to come out because they're set in WWII, because apparently it's unoriginal. There's loads of source material for quality FPS/Strategy games set in WWII, it's just the delivery that's often lacking. Personally I like fighting through the Western European countryside (COD3). I think that's because I live in England and France being across the water, has more significance for me than Japan or the Pacific Islands. The overlying reason though is judge the gameplay, graphics, sounds first and then take the story and setting as the binding factor. Headr a lot of people slating COD: WaW for it's setting but despite going over old ground it managed to feel fresh. Love it and still playing it. More WWII games are needed I think, but based on RAF/USAF or the resistance movement in East Europe.
