Being an experienced gamer sometimes I would read through game manuals for little scraps of advice on how to play my new game..
I am always welcomed by a warning entitled " Important Health Warning About Playing Video Games".
I will type it word for word from the RockBand2 manual..

Important Health Warning About Playing Video Games
Photosensitive Seizures
A very small percentage of people may experience a seizure when exposed to certain visual images, including flashing lights or patterns that may appear in video games. Even people who have no history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed condition that can cause these "photosensitive epileptic seizures" while watching video games.
These seizures may have a variety of symptoms, including lightheadedness, altered vision, eye or face twitching, jerking or shaking of arms/legs, disorientation, confusion or monetary loss of awareness. Seizures may also cause loss of consciousness or convulsions that can lead to injury from falling down or striking near objects.
Immediately stop playing and consult a doctor is you experience any of these symptoms. Parents should watch for or ask their children about the above symptoms - children and teenagers are more likely than adults to experience these seizures. The risk of photosensitive epilectic seizures may be reduced by taking the following precautions: Sit farther from the screen; Use a smaller screen; play in a well lit room;do not play when you are drowsy or fatigued.
If you or any of your relatives have a history of seizures or epilepsy, contact a doctor before playing.
Now personally I believe its all true, no matter how small that percentage is. Although being under 16 I live with my parents and I really think parents in general take that warning way too seriously..
Do you know anyone who's suffered from this photosensitive epileptic seizure thing? I certainly don't..
Do you ever suffer from any of them symptoms? I don't or nor do any of my friends or family..
If you look at the words used in the passage it's pretty clear what the warning is..but look at the words.."A very small percentage"..It's very clear that not many people have these seizures..From about 12 years of gaming with about 3-5 hours of it in a day I have not once experienced a symptom..
What do you think of it? Lies? truth?
I think its the overexaggerated truth and it should be made even more clear the percentage of people who suffer from this while playing video games is probably under one percent..
Most of us know the dreadful history of them rating companies including PEGI and the ESRB..
