March Madness! ...and stuff.

Once again I'm getting ready for the upcoming avalanche of good games being released (a lot of which were pushed back from the holiday season) I finished Batman Arkham City, it was really good while it lasted, but once I was done with the main story I really just wasn't up to it when it came down to the free roaming aspect that followed, I also finished Uncharted 3 but IMHO it just wasn't as good as the previous game, the controls felt a bit sloppy, the aiming was off (not to mention the annoying bullet-sponge quality of most enemies) and then there was that awful ship graveyard level, I don't know, maybe I was expecting something else, the game seems very light on exploring, puzzles and storytelling and too heavy on shooting, but not the good kind (enter room, clear room, move to next room) now don't get me wrong, it's a very solid title, just not as good as Uncharted 2.

One unexpected surprise for me was Saints Row the 3rd, man, that game came out of nowhere and blew me away, I just can't remember the last time I had this much fun, but nothing last forever, and thanks to some lackluster DLC released for it, the time came to put this game on the shelf next to the others.

A title I just can't seem to be able to put down is Soul Calibur 5, and no, it's not due to it's refined gameplay, the well implemented internet connectivity or the new added characters, it's all because of the character creation mode, showing off my originals and seeing what others have made never gets old, and it's addicting as hell.

Looking forward to Mass Effect 3, Street Fighter X Tekken, Max Payne 3 and others, I'm sure I'll have plenty of time for them, once I'm done picking out the right shoes (and color) for my new character.

Game backlog.

Well, here we are again, right before the big holiday rush of new video-game releases, and as I was preparing myself for the hours I'll be wasting in front of the TV and the nice chunk of money I'll be shelling out, I realized I still have a substantial backlog to go through, and by substantial I mean more than a dozen titles I still haven finished.

How the hell does that happen you ask? well, for starters, I'm married with children, so free time is now a luxury and not a certainty as it once was, also, sometimes I start playing something and then I get "swept away" by the next big game and I forget all about it until... yes, you guessed it, the next big game.

Maybe I'll just hit my backlog and finish a few of those old games I have sitting around before I start buying new ones, that sounds like a money saving proposition, doesn't it? because by the time I get around buying some of those new games, chances are they'll be available at a much lower price, and who doesn't like saving money these days? more money means more games, and more... and more... bwaaaaaaahaaaaahaaaaaaahaaaaaa!!!! er... uh... or maybe my problem is more serious than I though.
