Life is Strange. Blimey.

There comes a time when all the planets align. Having had my pant load of high-octane action adventure games for a while, plus starting a new college course and part time job, increasing attachments to my girlfriend, uncertain future, I decided it was time for something more chilled for my gaming hobby. I wasn't after anything else to test my twitch based reactions or my perseverance on taking down a big boss, I got enough tension going on right now. I heard about Life is Strange and it's success with critics, and how fast it grew it's own die hard fans who claim they will defend the game to the grave. It looks like a light, pleasant, relaxing game, it was time to check it out.

I wasn't prepared to be so traumatised....

If My Girl and Sophies Choice are considered a 10 on the sadness Richer Scale then Life is Strange flies off the chart. It kicks you down and then grabs you by the snatch/bell-end.

It starts out with a warning, throwing you into a storm so you know something bad's on its way, then it gets all soft and mushy, with a chilled out dreamy town atmosphere as it proceeds to do the cruelest thing ever - getting you to like it's characters.

Tragedy incoming in 5,4,3,2,1.

There may well be therapy classes set up for people who experience the end of episode 3. As I mentioned with the whole private parts grabbing comment it's incredibly gripping. There is something so sincere about it's storytelling, it strikes on your chords and creates a beautiful resonance that leaves you never wanting it to end.
