My bro and I have both played about 10 hours on the wii u and we were trying to figure out why this game is so good. I hate open world games but I'm really enjoying this game. It's not the individual mechanics but the attention to detail, sense of wonder, tension and creativity in combat. The gameplay is simple and intuitive and rewards skill and creativity, and there is a constant sense of wonder. This is the kind of game that is fun to talk about with friends because everyone approaches a situation differently and there are multiple paths to some quests even early on. I spent an hour hunting and cooking...and enjoyed it. This is the special kind of game that only comes around a few times a decade. It runs great on Wii U so don't let lack of a switch hold you back!
