people say half life 2 looks better. If they put half life 2 with the type of enviorment stalker has, it wouldnt match up. half life 2 looks better because the levels, are smaller, a lot smaller. so they have much more detail. Stalker has almost the same amount of detail, plus a hell of a lot better lighting, explosives, fire and other effects.

 Yes, but the improvement in graphics is incremental at best, the difference isn't that major, and since Half-Life 2 is a three year old game, the difference might as well be discarded.

Anyone that chooses a straight-forward shooter as the best game ever has absolutely no credibility.

Take a game that really affected you in some way, for example, I developed a very strong bond with Dogmeat in the original Fallout, and I almost cried when I blew him up with a rocket launcher by accident. I can count countless moments from that game that just make me look back and be glad that all those experiences were unique to everyone elses'. You don't get that feeling in a shooter.
