Its cool, IYO you don't fancy it...i understnad, but the game is DAMN FUN and ADDICTIVE, its intense, badarse, gory, violent and has the best cover system in gaming, i don't know but its so satisfying sniping a guy and see ing his head pop off, even better when blind fired. 

Gears 2 is a game that has it all, from the little in game speeches, when killing someone...to keep things going, from nailed gun play and helping your team, including the teamwork invloved to win the match...it all so rewarding and FUN.

its the little things that makes gears...good. IMO.

Is it me, or does that sound like almost every other multiplayer First person shooter?

Also, it sounds a little bit like Crysis wars with the cloaking thing.

I suggest you avoid FPS games in general, obviously not your genre. Or maybe your just sick of it. Its still a shooter, i don't know what you would expect from one.

I agree that Gears is taking the spotlight from halo 3 (not sells-wise, at least not yet anyway) but I really really fail to see how Recon is supposed to be bungie's answer to Gears. You could at least eloborate a little on how you came to that conclusion.

Also can you post a link where it says the game will be darker and more violent.

EDIT it would be pretty cool if indeed they chose a more darker atmosphere/setting in contrast to halo3's fruity atmosphere.

We don't know that yet, has Bungie showed off the game? I'm going by the recent annoucnment of Recon being like Gears of War...so its a wait and see and obviously, come aspects of the game might resemble gears. gsus. please think before typing. 

As for what they see? 

Gears of War is becoming massive, look at the sales, it shows that MANY MANY love the game, the over the top, violence, unique cover system, addictive and intense gameplay, etc etc. 

Bungie might want to add some of that to its new project, seeing how it works well. And IMO, they are feeling some of the heat, due to gears growing popularity.

First of all, never said Recon won't be a FPS (course it will), and Recon doesn't have to be a 3rd person to be like gears....gsus! 

OBVIOUSLY its an expansion, but its also a nice excuse to do something different. 

As you said yourself buingies trying something different so In what way would it be thier "answer" to gears if its not even in the same genre :?

It doesn't have to be the same genre, to be considered an answer to the game. and btw, going by the recent info, it will be similar to ghost recon, i honestly don't expect a First person view constantly through out the game.

They don't, i just bet Bungie see it as competition...since Bungie has been MS golden egg for most of the years to push the xbox brand, Gears of War's franchise is slowly being that second golden egg.
