I saw this coming, I made a thread not long ago saying how bungie is feeling the heat from Epic, with gears of war. Its a no brainer that gears of war is becoming a big franchise and like i said in that thread, i bet bungie see the game and say, "WOW i wish we thought of that"

I also said in another post that the game will be somewhat like gears, i just had this hunch (people laughed...but now its been confirmed), because Recon kinda seemed random to me, as if it was a last minute thing, so Bungie can prove they will still be the top dog from MS.

In no way am i bashing Bungie and there title, i love the halo franchise, but after playing gears, its hard to go back there..IMO. So i prefer the game more so. 

I also think Bungie love the game too and wanna see if they can do it better. Might sound stupid, but its how i feel.

Recon is also said to be a darker and more violent game...go figure.

The grahpics in Gears look plain sloppy, it looks like a budget game meaning how you know some budget indy moves kind of look like crap, thats how the unreal engine looks now. Far Cry 2 and COD4 looks a lot better in terms of frame rate and especially lighting, grant it Gears 2 may have destructible enviroments but so did stranglehold.. whats your point?

i agree about COD4, i never thought that game looked special...the horrible physics, flat envrioments and textures...bleh. Farcry 2 is dam impressive, considering the scale of the levels, everythings basically interactive in some ways.

I havent really been blown away by anything this year really. I havent played Gears 2 but Gears 1 wasnt really anything special for me either even though I hyped it a lot. GTA4 was good for awhile and then I realized it lacked so many things the other games had and just didnt have as much stuff that you were able to do. From what played of MGS4 it was pretty good, but Ive only played i a little bit at my friends house but seemed good and I have always been a fan of MGS series. I still have yet to play warhead either. Thats a game I think would be fun and enjoyable. Overall I have felt like this year really lacked something for me. Like last year I really enjoyed crysis and STALKER. For console the game that stood out for me was SKATE sine it brought a new way of playing a skateboarding game and sinc eI skateboard I felt like was very believable in the things I could do and I never really got bored with. I think it may just be I am in college and I just dont have the time really to stick to a game for awhile and thoroughly since I am always so busy. Thats my ramble and im sticking to it.Killfox

Gears 2 will blow you away...play it. 

Gears 2 easily better. But your right about the chainsaw, its nothing but chainsaw fest online...lol, still cool. As for the shotgun, heres a tip, melee a person before shooting them with it. garanteed kill. ;)

Instead of using off-screens to make the ps3 version look better than it does why not direct feed shots?

The ps3 version really lacks when it comes to aliasing,textures quality and framerates.

You do know that those pics only show contrast difference, right...lol. that can be fixed. gsus. 

haters still haven't explained how those pics show better textures in the PS3 version, there only BS excuse is...its from a forum..whoopty do. These are pics some people took to make a comparison since many thought the reviews were fishy. 

They are not magically edited, lol.
