I jes got a new Ipod Touch 8GB and I loooovvvveeee it. I put my music library on it and got 3.3 GB left. Now Im trying to put my movie collection on it, but I dont know exactly what Im doing to be honest. What I did was, I downloaded "Super", a video conversion program and I tried converting Training Day. It ended up at 1.4 GB when it was done, and I thought I put the settings to be reasonable for a Ipod... so I got a few questions. Normally, I'd jes mess around to find the best settings for size and quality, but converting movies took me 2 1/2 hours, and my computer basically freezes after I start converting till its finished. So, to get file to be the best quality for 500-600 MBs,
1) Do I use mpeg-4 or h.264/AVC? I got it at the default mpeg-4.
2) What resolution should I put it at? I put it at 480x320 because I think that's the Touch's resolution.
3) What aspect ratio should I put it at so most the screen gets used up? I got it at 11:9.
4) What should I use? 25 FPS, 29.97 FPS, or 30 FPS? Got it at 29.97.
5) What should the video bitrate be? Got it at the default 1200 kbps.
6) 44100 vs 48000 for audio sampling frequency? Got it at 44100.
7) Audio bit rate? Got it at 192 kbps.
And for those familiar with "Super", how much bigger does a file get if you check hi-quality vs top qualiy vs not checking them?
Thanks for all the help. Links to walkthroughs would help to. Remember, this is for a Ipod touch! :D
