Its all bogus. Modern Warfare 3 has been winning SOTY since like CoD4. At least for VGAs. Its all about popularity.

Just look at the game they gave GOTY. Skyrim was buggy and even now the patches just produce more problems. A game like this should not represent GOTY.

You really have to get into exploring and finding new places, weapons, people, etc.

Otherwise to me, it is a generic shooter.

The shooting in the game isn't so great plus the amount of freedom is far from generic shooter.

This game is eaxctly what you stated. If someone isn't interested in it most likely they don't like what you mentioned exploring completing multiple quests etc.

Its 40 bucks used, so maybe you'll get like 18-20 bucks. I would do it, only because I hate the game and love CoD4. Though you can sell it on ebay, craigs, and maybe ask for 30. The thing is is your likely to get less players in CoD4. ITs your call. But, CoD4 is under 20 bucks. Best just to buy it without seling MW2.
