Final Fantasy VIII would be my all time favourite RPG. I love the characters Squalls growth as a charcter to becoming more open and loving is a highlight. I think it probaly had the best weapon class of any FF game gunblades are just fantastic plus it involved you more in the fighting by making you time your trigger. I really liked the junction sytem aswell(apart from drawing all the mgic to begin with). It allowed for some very could cuztomisation of a characters strengths. Using GF's to learn your abilities is always good aswell, but it really gave a reason for someone like me who doesnt use summons to get the optional ones like Eden. The story in my mind is nearly perfect the only thing i found was that Ultimecia seemed to just be a reason to add an extra disk the game, it could of finished with Adel and still worked very well with some minor tweaks. It has the best minigame of any FF apart from blitzball in triple triad and because of the ability to change cards to items it gave a very good reason to play it. Personally i think FFVIII is an under rated game it never gets as much focus as say X or VII but its still a near perfect RPG i find. If its lacking in one one it would be that it doesn't have armour and accesories but i find the junction system more than covers this.

OK so this is what i think about RPGs:

Final Fantasy best RPGs are these not just 1 of them the top 10 or so id say are Final Fantasy's.

Oblivion is crap i mean the worlds huge and theres loys in it but i found no reason to want to. The story was crap save Cyrodil that pretty much covers it no real development past that. One other thing the game needed was some character development, i don't even know why he was in the jail to begin with. Battle system and the first person view were crap. made battling really boring not to mention look stupid. The world was good but Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII's will be better.

Now Final Fantasy's:

1. intersesting and statigic battle system ;) made battles far more enjoyable.

2. fantastic stories full of twists and always very well develpoed.

3. Characters are also very well developed and benifit the game.

3. They always have fantastic graphics and look great and thats all Oblivion had going for it.

4. Their might not be as much to do in them but theirs enough and its normally all pretty interesting aswell.
