I sorta care, it's like, I love to see the message that said I did something special. I find it fun to seek the achievements that are unrelated to the plotline, like "get to point x" or "make an explosion that is x big". I do like to watch my Gamerscore stack up, and sometimes certain Gamerscore milestones motivate me to play more, and hunt the achievements. I like achievements, I like Gamerscore, but I'm not at all competitive about it.
Oh, and I don't have LIVE Gold.
